Kate Middleton ensured she firmly cemented her status as a style icon (and queen of our hearts *sigh*) when she wore Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen to her recent nuptials. Last week, the Duchess of Cambridge continued to fly the flag for British fashion when she wore Reiss’ Shola dress to meet the Obama’s. Of course, we got the scoop before anyone else and the subsequent media storm that followed ensured that the dress sold out online within the hour, bringing the Reiss website to its knees! Oh, the power of a princess…
A source at Reiss told us that they knew K-Mid had purchased the dress along with other items from their current collection but did not know when or even if she would wear it at a public appearance. They were obviously delighted that she had chosen to champion an established British label for such a high profile occasion and in order to fulfil demand, will be reissuing the dress in 5-6 weeks.
