Celebrate summer in the city with Taste of London, June 17-20, at Regent's Park. Bringing together 40 of the city's restaurants as well as wine tastings, boutique suppliers and top chefs, Taste of London is the foodie event of the season.
Small plate dining will be the order of the day, with specially created menus for the occasion including signature dishes that showcase chefs' flair as well as seasonal and premium ingredients. Taste of London favourites Benares, Rhodes Twenty Four, Tom's Kitchen and Yauatcha will be vying for guests' affections alongside a crop of newcomers including Mennula, The Modern Pantry and The Satay House.
For those looking for something champagne service, there's the VIP ticket to provide added glamour to proceedings, bringing access to the British Airways VIP Lounge, a glass of Laurent-Perrier Champagne and £20 worth of Crowns (the currency of Taste of London that can be used to buy dishes from the restaurants). Or for those who want to combine learning with luxury, there is the Laurent-Perrier Champagne Masterclass in association with Daylesford Organic ticket. Hosted by critic and broadcaster Nigel Barden, guests are invited to taste their way through a line-up of top champagnes from Laurent-Perrier (Brut L-P, Cuvée Rosé Brut, Ultra Brut, Brut Millésimé 2000) paired with delicious Daylesford Organic tastings.
The Taste Theatre is where London's culinary greats show off their skills - and polish ours. 2010 is already shaping up to be an inspirational feast, with Heston Blumenthal Giorgio Locatelli and Rick Stein among the line-up. So it's time to finesse your light entertaining, perfect that ambitious dinner party menu, and join the capital's best chefs as they share their secrets and cook up a storm.
Beyond the restaurants, chefs, VIP lounges and wine tastings, Taste of London's cornucopia of food and drink suppliers will have guests thinking of their own larders. The boutique food market atmosphere includes 150 producers, like chocolatier and all-round cocoa magician Paul A. Young, top-notch butchers Allens of Mayfair, classy tipples from Bordeaux Wines, Clonakilty black pudding, British beer and Caribbean rum, as well as locally sourced groceries
