Three weeks ago, Grazia launched our first ever You, the FROW-er blogging contest. We asked you to watch the live-streamed catwalk presentations from London Fashion Week and write a show report about your favourite.
And the entries – over 500! – started landing in our Grazia Daily inbox. There were good blogs, and there were hilarious blogs. There were blogs that made us fear for our jobs and blogs that made us see designers in a whole new light.
We chose a winner for every day of London Fashion Week, ending up with five brilliant semi-finalists…
Helen Byrne, Cassie Lockyer, Gabriella Buzas, Amy Marks, and Emma Akbareian, who each won a just-released Blackberry Curve 8520 handset with a limited edition backplate cover by Henry Holland, embossed with designs from the House of Holland Autumn/Winter 2010 collection.
But we still had to choose an overall winner. So we put together a judging panel of industry experts including: Grazia’s Editor-in-chief Jane Bruton; British Fashion Council Talent Scout Andrew Tucker; Grazia’s Style Director (and Wardrobe Whispers blogger) Paula Reed, designer and Twitter addict Henry Holland, and Grazia Daily Editor Angela Buttolph.
And after much deliberation, they came to a decision.
And the winner is *drum roll*… Amy Marks, whose brilliant report on Erdem’s show was a hot favourite with the judges.
“Amy’s report was so well written” says Henry Holland “I like the way she had detailed descriptions of colours, styles and shapes, and also referenced the appeal of certain aspects [of the clothes] to different parts of the audience. She knew her stuff, and by describing the venue and really giving a feel for the place, she made it sound like she was actually there…”
So who is our FROW-er? Let’s let Amy tell you herself..
“I'm studying Fashion Journalism at the London College of Fashion and I'm about to graduate. I'm 25 and have been writing my blog Wolf Whistle since September 2008. I focus on the things that excite me (and sometimes those that disgust me!) and I'm definitely drawn to extremes - extreme headpieces especially! I love grey, purple and gold, Erdem, Luella and Derek Lawlor, jewellery in the shape of an A, giant bows, vintage dresses, wedge heels and everything Alber Elbaz touches…”

and her genius blog Wolf Whistle here.
The judges also wanted to give an ‘honorable mention’ to Cassie Lockyer for her witty and upbeat Caroline Charles show report.
So huge congratulations to Amy who wins a £1000 spending spree to splurge at the home of accessible designer fashion www.my-wardrobe.com, AND two FROW tickets (of course!) for next season at London Fashion Week, courtesy of the British Fashion Council.
Thank you to everyone for all your entries!
And watch this space for Grazia’s next blogging contest! It’s set to be even bigger and better…you have been warned!
