Loving the new Lady Gaga video for Edge of Glory? It’s set in New York and sees the Lady hanging out in front of those typical steps that lead up to a brownstone, as well as her dancing away in the kind of back alley fire escapes that could only be in NYC.
Gaga was in London last week promoting the song but it’s no surprise she chose the Big Apple for the vid, after all she is a native New Yorker. So which hotels does she hang out when she’s on home ground?
Last week she was spotted coming out of the Gramercy Park Hotel (www.gramercyparkhotel.com) on Lexington Avenue on her way to the CFDA fashion awards. The hotel describes itself as 'Bohemia reinvented for the 21st century' and is über cool with bold colours, startling artworks and heavy drapes, the hotel’s Rose Bar is still one of the bars to hang out in, rooms from $485 per night.
Just a few weeks before, Gaga was spotted partying in Mid-town at The Royalton at a night hosted by her friend, New York DJ Lady Starlight. The Royalton (www.royaltonhotel.com), is all New York sophistication – moody lighting, soft leather clad walls and suede upholstery, rooms from $279.
Gaga has also been spotted at the Plaza (www.theplaza.com) on Fifth Avenue, the style here is classic French Chateau chic, rooms from around $659 per night. Last September she stunned bar goers at the hotel’s Oak Room by giving an impromptu performance. Wow, wish we'd be there! Fingers crossed she does something similar when she’s back in the UK…
