Just when us Graziettas were pinching ourselves because the sun has actually got its hat on (huzzah!), pictures of Gisele frolicking at the Rio Carnival hit our desk. Ok, so we’re pretty jealous of the impossibly gorgeous model at the best of times, but seeing her soaking up the South American sunshine and general sexiness of Brazil, Grazia Daily is positively seething. We want to be covered in sequins, coated in body paint and partaking in the parade, damn it! But never fear, because the Grazia Travel Club is back with another dose of inspiration for when your watch hits holiday o'clock...
Take it from us, Brazil is one of the hottest destinations for 2011, with not only carnivals and supermodels, but samba, spirit, and beautiful shorelines. When in Rio, stay at the elegant Fasano, with glamorous interiors that match Ipanema beach on it’s doorstep. Lazing in the infinity pool on the roof deck ain’t bad either… If you’re less about topping up your tan and more about stretching your legs, hop on a bike and take a leisurely cycle along Copacabana beach, before having a Caipirinha as the sun goes down. Hmm, sounds blissful, dunnit?
If it’s retail therapy you’re after, São Paulo, the Brazilian metropolis, is the place to be. Emiliano hotel, located in the super-exclusive Jardins district of the city, is a stone’s throw away from Rua Oscar Freire, the shopping street full of international stores - our favourite being Marc Jacobs, obvs.
And why not keep the good times coming with a spot of booty shaking? Join in a samba school rehearsal at the quadras where local communities gather to practice for the Carnival Parade (supermodel genes not essential). Then show off your fancy footwork at the best live music bar in Rio, Scenarium, a converted three floor warehouse in the Lapa district. Because, seriously folks, if Brazil doesn’t get your feet twitching for some action, we don’t know what will! Sign up to Grazia's special bespoke concierge service right here.
