Going anywhere nice this weekend?

This weekend new film Brighton Rocks, a swinging 60s remake of the Graham Greene classic, hits the big screen starring Andrea Riseborough, Helen Mirren and John Hurt. If ever we needed confirmation that Brighton is one of the UK’s coolest coastal cities, here it is. We love the retro chic of the Hotel Una, and the Twenty One is one of the most elegant B&Bs on the south coast. (Beware: the hosts leave gorgeous chocolate treats everywhere - just too tempting!)

And while there’s always a cool new boutique hotel and restaurant popping up there, it’s the traditional stuff we love most about Brighton. Like eating fish and chips at Bardsley's on London Road, window-shopping in the Lanes and sitting on the beach, watching the world go by, with an extra thick towel to cushion those pesky pebbles. Or how about wandering round open mouthed at the totally mad, kitsch but brilliant, Royal Pavilion and walking along the sea front at dawn after a night of great bands at the Brighton Live Festival? Brighton, you rock!
