Alan Sugar’s previously admitted he thinks twice before hiring a woman in case she gets pregnant. Now some might say he has a right to be wary.

For the third time in a row his latest Apprentice superstar employee has put family before work, after getting pregnant by one of her colleagues.  
 
Yasmina Siadatan, 29, bagged a £100,000 a year role with Sir Alan after winning the last series of the Apprentice. Now she’s just broken the news she’s four months pregnant, by Andrew Hepburn, the firm’s development manager.
 
A spokesman for Lord Sugar said, ‘He is pleased for Yasmina and very supportive.’
 
However, it’s a different story in the blogosphere where Yasmina is being cricitised for giving career girls a bad name and ruining the chances of any woman winning the Apprentice in the future. ‘She sold herself as this career-driven powerhouse,’ wrote one online commentator, ‘Then her ambition flew out the window as soon as a prospective husband came along…’

‘This is why small business prefer to hire men,’ wrote another, ‘Funding women through maternity leave is enough to put them out of business.’
 
Should mother-to-be Yasmina be congratulated or condoned for reinforcing the glass ceiling she was once so determined to break?
