Blondes scientifically proven to be trouble

Forget the theory that blondes have more fun, a new study has found they’re more aggressive than brunettes and redheads – because they live in a me-me-me bubble and are used to getting their own way.

The theory is, blondes get more attention from men, so believe they’re more ‘special’ than redheads and brunettes. And, according to this study, ‘special’ people are more likely to use anger to reach their goals – and get defensive if they don’t (blondes up in arms, don’t shoot the messenger; we’re only relaying the evidence).

And it doesn’t matter if your collar doesn’t match your cuffs, as the study also found, even those who dye their hair soon take on the natural blonde's aggressive streak. 'We expected blondes to feel more entitled than other young women,’ said Aaron Sell, who led the study at the University of California. 'What we did not expect to find was how much more warlike they are than their peers.'

Though this writer is a blonde herself, in the interest of fair reporting, it's worth noting only 156 women were interviewed for this study. And it was carried out in California – where blondes rule supreme.

So, let’s open the survey to the Grazia vote. Are blondes really more ‘warrior-like’ than those with darker tresses, or is this just another hair hue stereotype?

  • As a blonde, I dont see myself as an agressive person however, I'm no pushover. I think stereotype. I'm sure any girl would fight her corner no matter what her hair colour

  • What a load of old twaddle. I mean I can understand that all that bleach might make you go a bit crazy once in a while especially if you leave it on too long but honestly hasn't the person who conducted this 'study' got better things to do. Actually I'm blonde and just reading about this has made me get a little bit angrier then say five minutes ago. Oohh maybe there is some truth in it. I'll pass the article over to my brunette friends and let you know if it had the same impact............

  • I don't think you can compare a California Blonde to the rest of the world. What percentage of the study came from Beverly Hills?!

  • This sort of stereotyping makes me angry. But of course as a *blonde* it obviously would... The writer needs to take into account that the sort of attention being blonde generates is not always positive or indeed wanted.

  • Well as a brunette I'm totally calm whilst reading this article. All you blondes out there getting angry? Well it must be totally true then! :)

  • So....if this (so called) 'study' is true then, does that mean that dark blondes are calmer than light blondes??? What a pile of pish!!! If it is indeed the case that blondes are more 'agressive' it's probably because a large percentage of the kind off idiots that devise these kind of ridiculous 'surveys' come into it with pre-conceived ideas such as 'all blondes are ditzy airheads'!....No wonder they get narkey when presented with this kind of numbskull!! And to add insult to injury, the 'test' was performed on a ridiculously small number of people, in California (famous for 'ballsy no-nonsense speak-your-mind' women)....purleeze! I'll be filing this report along with the one that says 'chocolate isn't fattening'!!!

  • I read an article once about a girl who did an experiment in a bar as a brunette and a blonde. She found that she got loads more attention as a blonde. I would have to agree as a brunette! I can be quite feisty at times but I'm not sure it's aggression and I think I'm special lol!!

  • I dont see how blondes are more agressive than brunettes or red heads, im blonde and im not really that agressive. Were all pretty much equal i think.

  • I'd say I'm pretty aggressive as a natural blonde, but I'd put that down to inheriting my parents personality traits and they are both dark haired...
