Centre Court – It’s A Runway Out There
We'll be honest: we never expected Wimbledon to have a fashion moment. But tennis stars in 2009 know that it's just not enough to have a killer serve - you've got to look good while you brandish a racket. Just look at Robert Federer's Nike outfit - part Brideshead Revisited, part P Diddy video. The jury's still out on this one, but we have to give him an A for effort. But Nike didn't stop there, and Maria Sharapova strode onto the grass wearing a tight braided jacket - part Hornblower, part One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. Sexy, probably. Silly? Er, that too. Of course, last year, Maria disappointed FHM readers by sporting a pair of practical tennis shorts, but this year she's gone for full-on Athena poster glory. So what do you think? Has Nike served up a hit or a miss?

RedShoes - Never been bothered about what the women wear (for once) - only interested in seeing the men's legs!! (Edburg was my favourite for years!)
misteltoe - With the risk of being lynched, I can't stand watching womens tennis now. The grunting and howling really puts me off and its not the same watching it on mute.
The men don't do it so can someone please explain why a lot of the women do??
fashionrat - I LOVE the way Federer dresses up for Wimbledon - he always manages to look so gentlemanly. I have to say, hes done better than this outfit, its all a bit blingtastic. He suits the school style more.
boonyboo - I'm really not a tennis player or spectator, but let's be honest tennis wear's come a long way. There's a good discount I saw, with the etail therapist though... think it was tennis wear at sweat betty. looked cool in the photo anyway, for a tennis outfit, that is!
CammieW - Federer looks like he took too many hits from the pimp stick, hideous.
The best dress has been the frilly adidas one which ivanovic and stopp wore and the outfit Jankovic wore. anything else, raincoats, jackets, boots, hats, breeches is too much.
