Is 2009 the year of the designer nipple?

As if there weren't enough parts of our bodies for women to obsess about, the Daily Mail reports that nipple surgery is the latest must-have for the woman who already has the full range of Louis Vuitton luggage. Because as we inch our way into summer, everyone from Kate Moss to Heather Graham to Victoria Beckham has been indulging in a spot of, ahem, 'peanut smuggling', to give chilly-nipple-flaunting its official name. And whatever clinic Victoria Beckham goes to, the world follows.

London's Harley Medical Group has reported a 30 per cent rise in nipple surgery over the last 12 months. 'Until now celebrities didn't expose their nipples so they were no "nipple role models",' explains Dr Riccardo Frati, a cosmetic surgeon for the group.  'In the past I've had patients coming to my surgery clutching pictures of celebrities like Katie Price and saying: "I'd like breasts like hers", but now there's a chance that Mrs Beckham's designer nipples could be the next big thing for 2009.'
