What did you think of Laura's X Factor eviction?

default

Yes, we know there are more important things to get upset about at the moment, like the state of the economy and global warming. But what happened on Saturday night's X Factor was just unbelievable - and left most of us staring at the television screen in disbelief. One of Grazia's favourite girls Laura White was voted off the show after coming in the bottom two of the public vote - with only her mentor, the beloved Cheryl Cole, voting in her favour. The sight of the 21-year-old's defeated face, resigned to her fate as Simon, Louis and Dannii (who last week tipped Laura to win the whole show) voted for hit-and-miss Spanish singer Ruth Lorenzo, made us want to weep. Even Simon couldn't believe it as poorer singers like Daniel ‘Ricky Gervais' Evans sailed through to next week's show. ‘You were not the worst two singers tonight, so I don't know what went wrong tonight. It was a joke.' And it sent a flurry of ‘What are the public on?' text messages across Britain. (Or was that only in our office...?!) What do you think of the X Factor eviction? Do you think Laura was robbed? And who'll be in the final three?

  • Totally disgraceful (though not a massive surprise seeing as there always seems to be one of each of the judges' acts, bar one, in the final three). Who was voting for Daniel and the child with bad hair? I hope she refuses to go on the skinky tour

  • Was totally backing Laura to win, now she's gone some of the magic has been lost from the show. We'll have to make do with JLS, Daniel and creepy Ruth now I guess. Yawn.

  • My boyfriend and I were really stunned to see Laura in the bottom 2. I really like Ruth but I still think Laura is the one with the potential to become a star. Saying that, I am sure she will be successful anyway. Where does Daniel get all these sympathy votes from?? My favourite is Diana but Alexandra seems to be the timeless star with truly global appeal.

  • Well. Before this happened I preferred the X-factor to Strictly, but I think I’ve just lost interest– Rachel just doesn’t seem to be getting better and the others are too, too cheesy (apart from Diana, but I can’t be bothered to tune in for one person alone). Ruth is out of tune at least 50 per cent of the time, so unless the judges are tone deaf I actually think this was tactical voting. Seriously, I do! Poor Cheryl. And poor Laura!

  • Who keeps voting for Daniel??!! He's a joke and for Laura to go out over him is a disgrace. I can't stand to watch Louis anymore, he is so mean to them all and only cares about getting one up on the other judges, rather than talent. He kept Daniel in after totally dissing him just to get rid of one of Simon's acts.
Alexandra to win! She has true star quality.

  • I think it was certainley tactical voting .Simon and louis have enough success and welath to not have to take part in that yet they still do when the show is over and they don't care about scoring points over each other there will still be a very talented laura who didnt get the break that she deserved .How they could have given eoghan good comments and laura bad ones shows there inconsitancy .If he was 25 and not 16 he would not be there

  • Shameful.
Simon voted Ruth because he fancies her and her amazing - ahem - assets. You know what annoyed me most? It was that Louis kept on saying he 'HAD' to vote someone out. Well he didn't HAVE to vote anyone out. He could have let it go to deadlock just like Cheryl did the other week. That way the public would have the final say, which, if the press is to believed, meant that Laura had won by a mile. Tactical voting beyond doubt. And lastly, why does it always have to be Louis to have the final vote? It apears that Dermot always starts with Simon and ends with Louis. Louis' just bitter because Girls Aloud fired him all those years ago.

  • Whilst i don't think that Laura should have been in the bottom two, she's not my favourite. Yes she can belt out with that voice, BUT when she isn't belting out you can't understand a word she sings. The Michael Jackson week got it for me, i thought she was speaking another language. Being a great singer isn't all about the big notes. Don't forget a deadlock could've still resulted in Laura going, out of the 2 performances last week i would've voted for Ruth.
I am amazed every week that Daniel gets through and actually have to fast forward (sky+ it) through his performance and critique.
Alexandra is my fave, now she CAN do the big notes and sing in a normal voice.
