Technically impressive, deftly tailored and faultlessly finished - Christopher Bailey's outing for Burberry today served up girlish lace and fondant shades made fit for a lady.

Head to toe dusty pink, pussy willow, chartreuse and powder blue offered a softer sensibility than has been seen in recent seasons. Lace, crochet  and laser cut pencil skirts were matched with easy knits, matching tees and slouchy cardigans. Clean, bold volumes were seen in outerwear while several pieces featured deep folds at the hips and at the rear of knits, twisted and finished into bows. LFW's mega floral trend gained yet another adherent in Bailey.  Clutch bags rolled up like newspapers were grabbed tight and studded with leather and transparent plastic flowers. The same posies were repeated on shoulder straps and belts, cinching dresses and coats.

Sheer floral tube dresses and crystal encrusted blooms were littered across transparent PVC cropped jackets and decadent evening skirts.

As ever at Burberry, the FROW was packed with a stellar cast- all captured this season by Burberry's new partner in innovation, the iPhone 5s. As rose petals rained down on the runway, yet another digitally directional, soigné and sophisticated edition of Bailey's Burberry closed, pretty as a picture.
