We're almost there people, Paris is drawing to a close, but before we duck out, here's the round up of the best beauty news from backstage at Paris Fashion Week from Monday. Here are our highlights...
1. Cellophane Eyes At Valli
Val Garland whipped up a sci-fi storm backstage at Giambattista Valli, creating 'cellophane eyes' on the models using the new MAC eye glosses so that when they strutted their stuff down the catwalk, the clever make-up trickery gave the illusion that the eyes had been lifted for a youthful effect. Probably much in need after four weeks of back to back shows!
2. Hair Goes Punk At Givenchy
It might look like an extreme version of a blue rinse but the hair at Givenchy, created by Luigi who has looked after the hair at Givenchy for eight years now, sculpted the hair with small, tightly pinned flat curls that looked almost Rose like, using the model's own hair and dyeing it from bright blue to pink for a 'Victorian Punk' effect. Apparently the girls were so taken with the 'do's they kept them on for the post show parties!
3. Skater's At Kenzo
To avoid any smouldering eye references, make-up artist Aaron de Mey lined eyes just on the lower lids to create a punkier feel rather than the classic khol rimmed eyes associated with black liner. Taking it into the water line and roots, added to the skater feel the beauty team were aiming towards. Finishing witha sweep of MAC Gloss Texture on the lids, it left the models witha high shine, almost sophisticated finish to this otherwise super-grungey look. We love a new take on classic liner!
The New Chanel Nails, Modelled Perfectly By Cara
4. Chanel Straight Off The Catwalk
The Chanel show may literally have just finished but already the FROW are twitting furiously about eh new nail shade du jour. As Cara so beautifully models after teh show, we can spot the burnt orange hue a mile off, almost overshadowing the cool, hi-tech liquid silver shadow on the eyes. So it might be all about nudes for Spring/Summer but it looks like Chanel have got other plans for Autumn Winter!
