Cue even more amazing beauty looks girls! Day 6 saw a plethora of stunning hair and make-up creations hit the catwalks, and quite the variety, too. With everything from braided chignons at Oscar de la Renta to a graphic, lined eye at Rodarte, Day 6 brought us all sorts of exciting happenings. Read on and learn girls…
1. ‘No make-up’ make-up at Narciso Rodriguez
This gorgeously radiant glow just keeps popping up literally every single season, so we know it’s a keeper. Who wouldn’t want a luminous, dewy complexion? We certainly do. To achieve this no make-up façade, Dick Page used a variety of different textures to create gentle, natural contours on the model’s faces. For cheeks, he created a custom shade with Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Metalrose and Hellebore (available this spring). Page also blended out the eyeliner with moisturiser and diluted brown mascara with a clear gel for a more natural finish. Clever stuff.
2. 80s Hollywood Glamour at Rodarte
This stunning look came courtesy of James Kaliardos for NARS, who said, “It’s this idea of a wild L.A girl- the real L.A, not the red carpet L.A”. We’re seriously swooning over this beauty look and cannot wait to try it out come S/S 14. Check out those eyes! We’re just loving the precision of the eyeliner which really emphasises the natural shape of the eye. Want in? Arm yourself with NARS’ Larger than Life Eyeliner in Via Veneto and Eye Paint in Black Valley. Secrets of the backstage beauty, apparently.
3. Fresh Skin at Oscar De La Renta
Trust make-up pro Gucci Westman to transform models at this show into beyond fresh-faced beauties. Rumour has it that Oscar is always nagging Gucci to add more colour, so this cheeky backstage Instagram shot shows Gucci doing just that- using Revlon’s new for 2014 ColorStay Shadowlinks in Cocoa, Candy and Plum, which she accentuated with a slick of mascara and a muted pink lip. Totally gorgeous!
4. Gothic Smoky Eyes at Katie Gallagher
The vibe over at uber cool Katie Gallagher was all wonderfully romantic and gothic, and us beauty ladies were over the moon to see the models sporting a seriously awesome purple-red smoky eye. We love!
5. Braided Chignons at Oscar De La Renta
Backstage at Oscar de La Renta, the girls had their tresses whisked into super-cool braided chignons which we literally want to wear right now, literally. Apparently, De La Renta had specifically requested that hair be up and off the face and shoulders in order to show off all the amazing jewels he had stashed away for the show. The intricate plaits were tucked underneath themselves, smoothed and locked into place with plenty of hairspray, and some even featured jewelled brooches. Swoon!
