New York Fashion Week might almost be over (only 1 full day of shows left!) but we just cannot get over all the stunning beauty looks we’ve spied over the past few days. Without wanting to get you too excited, our beady beauty eyes have certainly spotted a few trends in the making (hint- orange lips, cornrow plaits and dewy skin to name a few) and yesterday’s shows certainly didn’t disappoint either…
First up was Michael Kors where the look was breezy, beautiful and totally wearable for SS 14. Like previous Kors shows, there was a strong emphasis on sporty beauty (the sophisticated not sweaty side!) and make-up artist Dick Page was back on hand to work his beauty magic. The overall look was a fresh glow which we totally love. Plus, we also spied hair guru Orlando Pita backstage transforming the girls’ hair into loose, free-flowing buns- with not a hair elastic in sight! It was all about twists and pins for an uber natural finish.
Our second highlight came at the Proenza Schouler show when models were sporting one of the most radiant, ethereal glows we’ve seen to date, courtesy of lead make-up artist Diane Kendal, who used her fingers to apply MAC’s Extra Dimension Blush in Pleasure Chest (available next spring).
Other top hair moments included those amazing black hairbands at Vera Wang (VB would be proud), some gorgeous slicked-back looks at Clover Canyon and not to mention some of the biggest top-knots we have ever seen at The Blonds show late last night. Where did they get all that hair!?
Oh, and the day’s FW essentials? A whiff of Victoria Beckham’s Baies Diptyque candle backstage in her showroom was enough to soothe our frayed nerves, whilst a plethora of Fuji water stashed behind the scenes at Marchesa guaranteed all-day hydration (take note, ladies!). Not to mention Gucci Westman’s Tata Harper beauty goodies.
