Spring 2013 Beauty At Paris Fashion Week: Honey tans and utilitarian at Dior.

1. The honey tan at Roland Mouret was a welcome relief from the pale pretties that we've seen so far for Spring/Summer 1213. Importing the best of British beauty experts of course, Roland's models had the best tanner in town, Nichola Joss, to buff their bodies into honeyed hues.  Nichola, St Tropez's Global Skin Finishing Expert, told us "Curve skimming, body con dresses are Roland's trademark. Perfecting skin with molten honeyed tones enhanced the girls' natural shape and added a sporty finish that gleams on the catwalk".

Nichola used the St.Tropez Instant Glow Wash Off Mousse and the Tan Optimiser Body Butter and blended them with a mitt to get a glossy finish. We might start perfecting our summer tan now!

2. At Dior, like the backstage access, beauty was looking strict.  We're talking no frills, "strong, and very utilitarian-the simplicity of the ponytail is more of a stripped-back feeling" Guido explained.

The guidelines for such a ponytail?  Three REDKEN products Satin Wear 01, applied to da,p hair and blow dried in with a bristle brush, All Soft Argan 6 to tame frizz and add that shine you'll never naturally achieve and Fashion Work 12 to finish.  The key to this hair?  Pinning the pony until the models walked the catwalk to encourage movement and a Pat McGrath graphic, pastel eyes beaded with crystals on all 55 girls.  It only took the team from 8am-2pm to detail each girl!  Simples!

3. Following the theme for graphic eyes, Lucia Peroni created 'birds feathers reflecting in the water' at Issey Miyake.  This consisted of MAC Platinum Metal Pigments, a silvery, white, line, that stopped at the crease but was made stronger at the lash line.  Mixed with a gloss like product eyes had that watery glint which was continued by make up artists spritzing the models as they lined up ready to walk the catwalk , so that the over all finish of the skin was 'shimmery and wet'.  Swan like!
