Oh we do so look forward to the Gucci backstage beauty look every season season. For autumn winter 2012 a dream beauty team of face painter Pat McGrath and session stylist Luigi Murenu worked up a model army inspired by Pre-Raphaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti, which translated as pale, flawless skin, tumbling locks and dark, delicious lips.
Last night in Milan, the very same dup took on spring/summer 2013 in style. Talking of the overriding 90’s trend in both New York and London Pat said, “There were enough brows in New York…Let’s move on… This is Milan. We’re not going to bore you with no makeup anymore.” We do so love a lady who says exactly what she thinks...
And last night’s beauty recipe? Sheer layers of deep brown shadow and pencil across lids and the lower lash line, a generous doe of highlighter to cheekbones and no less than two sets of false lashes. “It’s like a more natural version of Marisa Berenson,” added Pat.
Over in hair meanwhile, Luigi masterminded graphic updo’s in which “a kind of sixties/seventies feeling,” met “Eastern sophistication”! Structure came in the form of extensions which were daubed with Kiehl’s Clean Hold Styling Gel and pressed into flat, hard, wooden-looking panels with hair straighteners, before being pinned to the base of a chignon.
Needless the say we love. Check out the impressive Gucci beauty-looks of seasons past in our gallery above.
