Wendy Rowe Reports Exclusively For GraziaDaily Backstage At London Fashion Week Spring Summer 2013

What happens when a Make Up Artist becomes a backstage beauty reporter?  Well you can find out right here as mega make-up artist Wendy Rowe turned her hand at reporting exclusively for Grazia Daily.  Backstage at Sass & Bide and Christopher Kane, Wendy found out what her peers were up to and lets us in on the beauty tips and tricks from the pros.

First Up Sass & Bide:

I've always loved the style of Sass & Bide, modern, cool and very low-key - just like their jeans – so it’s no surprise the makeup focused on barely-there, clean, fresh skin teamed with a "handsome" brow. Charlotte Tilbury used a torch whilst applying makeup to ensure that the skin looked perfect when the light hit the model’s faces on the catwalk. Usually a tool Charlotte only uses on shoots, the torch was essential as the warm, amber backstage lights were a far cry from the bright blue lighting of the catwalk.

Product I loved backstage:

MAC SS13 eye palette (name TBC).  The matte cream textures were used to subtly contour the eye and enhance natural definition. They blend super easily, it’s versatile and the non-shimmer finish is very natural.

Christopher Kane:

It's a busy day today - I have the Burberry show so it's an early start with the lighting test before darting over to the Christopher Kane show backstage to catch up with Lucia Pieroni who’s heading up the makeup team for NARS. Christopher referenced Frankenstein in the collection on some T-shirts and wanted Lucia to use this as inspiration, so Lucia created the "beautiful daughter of Frankenstein".

A heavy-set brow - just in the middle - gave the girls a neanderthal quality, whilst skin was given the radiance treatment with what Luicia called the "dream duo" which consisted of prepping skin with NARS Optimal Bright Concentrate to brighten skin and then highlighted with NARS Copacabana Multiple Liquid.

Luica finished the look by applying a winged liner underneath the eye and a slick of a nude lip. I love this tough look and I think Lucia is one of the best in the world.
