Emilia Wickstead Spring Summer 2013: Fit For A Princess

14 September 2012 by

Emilia Wickstead held her show for the second season at her Cadogan Place atelier, which proves to be an extra special touch. As the guests arrived, we were served cocktails and nibbled the sweet treats that were waiting for us on our seats, all the while taking in the elegant surroundings. It was hard not to let yourself day dream along to the classical music and imagine you were there not to see the new collection at a fashion show but to be fitted for an amazing dress for some truly fabulous occasion!

So when the show started to the sound of Charms by Abel Korzeniowski and the first looks started to file out, we think everyone, like us, was pretending they were one of Truman Capote's 'society swans,' that had inspired Emilia's new collection.

Elegant, glamorous, and naturally fit for high society, we're truly hoping Kate Middleton hijacks the entire collection! She has afterall worn Emilia Wickstead before ...Expect perhaps the knicker revealing slit skirt: we don't think Queenie would approve!

Here are our highlights:

1. The gorgeous colour combos- lime and grey? Yes please!

2. The uber elegant silhouettes, nipped in waists never looked so good!

3. All the wonderfully rich fabrics, such a textural treat.

4. Regal touches: we loved the jewelled headband and embellished necklines.

5. The dramatic full skirts which belong in a palace!

Tweet of the show: Manolo Blahnik's early doors excitement over the shoes.

K-Middy most worth look: Exit 7- the monochrome striped fifties frock.

Top model: Loving the gorgeous Edda Oscars opening the show.
