11:00 'Quality and luxury have always been the essence of the ready-to-wear and these remain the cornerstone of the collection while a new notion of versatility, modernity and ease have been introduced,' Victoria Beckham writes in the show notes for her latest collection. 'Signature silhouettes and details have been referenced and progressed in new forms with contrast and texture. This has allowed me to continue to investigate embracing the female form and further explore the notion of how a woman can emotionally connect with her clothes and how they make her feel.'
10:45 So what's the verdict? Over to Grazia's Katherine Ormerod in New York:
'Victoria Beckham's gone for a fresh and fun direction this season. While we're used to seeing sophisticated knee-length, structured sheaths from the designer, for Spring Summer '13, it's all about the short and flippy hemlines, tennis-inspired skirts and sporty aesthetic.
'Each piece was very minimalist rather than in-your-face glam and the collection was very disciplined in terms of the colour palette, with just the occasional pop of zingy tangerine amid the monochrome. This is for the VB fan who wants to look city chic but doesn't have time to be high-maintenance.
'Zips that were left open to reveal the fabric underneath provided interesting detailing, as did the visible underwear - namely a beautiful bra worn under a simple jacket. Could a lingerie line be VB's next venture?
'On the accessories front, the show opened with a parade of pilgrim hats and flat sandals that were laced up to the knee, reminding us of Alexander Wang's footwear but in a less-street, more-refined stylee. Without a platform heel in sight, it looks like Beckham is taking herself much less seriously.'
