London Fashion Week Autumn / Winter 2012 Show Report: Anya Hindmarch

From her gorgeous must have handbags to her always impressive press days and fashion week events, Anya Hindmarch knows just how to fullfil every need of a fashion crowd. But today’s A/W’12 extravaganza will definitely break her record for the most complex and wonderfully inventive stunt ever! This morning we gave you a sneak peek at a teaser trailer video of Anya's fashion factory and what will be her first ever actual show. But here’s the full lowdown…

'It's like our own version of a catwalk, but for accessories!' Anya told us. What it really is, for us, is pure magic. With a collection titled ‘All I’ve Ever Wanted’, Anya’s wild imagination and the set-design talents of the best man for the job out there and her good friend Michael Howells (lauded for his work on such high profile sets like Dior’s couture runways), we're weren’t surprised they didn’t miss a single detail in their quest for perfection....

As if the excitement wasn’t peaking quite enough, the fash pack got a sugar high from Anya's Quality Treats choccies they found on their seats (and it was a major hint - this classic tin of Quality Street choccies was the starting point for the very sparkly collection). After two 1950s-style dinner ladies offered out tea, we spotted them chatting away in the wonder-warehouse and accidentally leaning on a handle to turn a conveyor belt full of fun on… Whirring into action - complete with ‘Anyamatronics’ of dangling and spinning light up LED and wind-up musical bags, glittery shoes created in collaboration with Terry de Havilland and bauble-like hand crafted evening bags – there were white gloved hands popping out of nowhere to showcase the goodies! 'The set was inspired by a toy my children have called ‘The Christmas Machine’, where presents go in and come out magically wrapped!' She told us before the show, 'But it’s not really about Christmas, just that excitement. I wanted to embrace that feeling – it’s just like the buzz of buying a new handbag!'

And then there was the finale to end all finales! From behind a curtain Anya was revealed atop a podium, riding a bicycle that powered the entire factory line. And get this - she had light up shoes! Boom, a burst of snow-globe snow frosted the FROW and everyone left with a rather large smile on their faces.
