You've already seen Grazia Team Beauty's favourite looks from Day One and Day Two at the Autumn / Winter 2012 shows, but now it's on to Day Three at New York Fashion Week. Here are our favourite finds...
1. Polished & Posh at Victoria Beckham
After we had finished ogling David Beckham carrying baby Harper backstage at the Victoria Beckham show, it was back to beauty business. Glamorous and sophisticated was the aim of the game in VB's beauty department, which was more than fulfilled by Guido and Diane Kendal. The models looked like a *ahem* Posh version of the Alexander Wang girl we saw yesterday: extremely glamorous, totally sleek and a tad Spicy (soz). The hair had blunt, perfect ends and a precise side parting, created by Guido, teamed with a bold matte red lip with an orange popped centre created with a matte powder blusher from Sunday Riley. But it was the abundance of Sunday Riley face serum and oils that we were fascinated by. It was being used to prep the models' skin, before tinted moisturiser was applied. We've been informed that the hero products are now shipping to the UK, so check out their website pronto: www.sundayriley.com
2. Audrey Hepburn army at Thakoon
'The collection is a romantic cliché of something old New York – Upper East Side in the 1980s..but with a quirky twist,' designer Thakoon Panichgul revealed backstage. 'It’s reminiscent of the past but still feels modern.' And who wouldn't want to be an Audrey Hepburn-a-like? So with an homage to Audrey, the Thakoon gang took inspiration from the glamorous movie star with a 'tiny bang' teamed with a chignon. It was created by Odile Gilbert using a LOT of Kerastase hairspray. The look was polished off with another bright pout with and clean skin for a 'minimal but polished' face, created by Diane Kendal. 'Thakoon wanted to focus on the lip this season,' the NARS makeup told us. 'It’s a fuschia pink, which is not an obvious colour for a bold lip. We wanted to play with colour, and it ends up making the whole look so interesting.' Yep, the look was certainly Oscar red carpet worthy. And along with the unexpected sighting of Martha Stewart having tea at the Thakoon Plaza hotel location with her dog Chow Chow, the whole experience was nothing short of glitzy.
3. Mysterious mavens at Diane von Furstenberg
Inspired by a 'mysterious rendezvous' (that's much more exciting than a simple meeting, you understand) the beauty team at DVF played with the matte vs shiny aspect of the designer's collection. Mega make-up hero James Kaliardos created eyes that were not only super matte grey but also glossy, sitting separately on the eyelid to create a modern smokey eye. Orlando Pita was on hair duties, forming a neat, tight bun and side parting using Phyto's wet look gel to play with the different textures of the collection. Yep, this season, DVF's signature bohemian style took on a serious side.
4. Karmen's boots
Okay, so it's no strictly a beauty trend, but we couldn't resist sharing this snap with you of Karmen P and her gorgeous boots by Alaia. We want. Grazia had to fight our way through the backstage crowd to pin the model down and find out where they're from and they soon became a hot topic of conversation. Aren't they just to die for?
