Kanye West's first collection hit Paris with a bang. With a nod to Alaia, Kanye has already impressed the backstage veteran beauty teams. As they whip the specially-selected models into 'super-sophisticated, sexy women', it's not difficult to see why the new designer picked his dream team to strut down the catwalk. Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn, Abbey Lee and Chanel Iman - just a few of the Kanye crew - made easy work for the beauty brief.

'This is a Kanye girl: sexy but cool, you want to look like her,' make-up extraodinaire Val Garland told us backstage, 'He wanted a Kanye West-version of the Victoria Secret girl'. Translation? A smoky, winged eye and glowing skin you'll want to recreate pronto! Lashes were added to the outer corners and teamed with a MAC black Cream Liner, smudged and reapplied in a flick, crucially curling upwards to give that extra sex factor. And what does a West girl wear on her lips? A creamy beige lip (a mixture of Myth and Woo Me lipstick) that was Sixties inspired.
But it was the luxurious skin that really gave the girls a sophisticated edge. It was buffed in MAC Sculpt Foundation with a #188 brush and cheeks were carefully contoured with a #168 brush before being highlighted with MAC cream colour base in Shell, an essential part of the KW-esque glow.
Over in Camp Hair, things stayed sexy-cool, almost Corine Roitfeld-ish with a side-sweeping fringe covering one eye. The texture was almost like a horse tail in its coarseness, but certainly not straying from the Victoria's Secret beauty brief. Yep, there's not a Gold Digger in sight!
