Following a stunningly beautiful collection from Christopher Kane during London Fashion Week, we wondered what the designer had in store for Versus (that's Versace's little sister, of course). Well, we got girlie gorgeousness, with hot frocks hitting the catwalk in ice cream pastels. Pinks, baby blues and mint greens were contrasted with striking black for the sassy edge that this label does so well. Cut-outs and stripped corseting were details which also stayed true to the design house.
Kane had the whole Varsity team there - cheerleader dresses and skirts swished down the catwalk while Varsity-style bomber jackets were a nod to the boys' team, but cropped in lilac leather. We were also transported back to a tennis team from the 1920's thanks to drop-waist skirts, black-trimmed tunics (worn alone of over trousers) and loose-fit cullottes, just in time for the Olympics, perhaps?
The shoes kept the prettiness on the right side of spicy with patent girlie Mary-Janes funked up with black lattice straps and the bags played nice with portfolio and satchel shapes.
Overall, it was a fun and flirty collection. Can we be a Versus girl too, please?
