Milan Fashion Week Spring Summer 2012 show report: Missoni
As we arrived in the galleried courtyard of the city's oldest university we got a sneak preview of Missoni's Spring 2012 collection - courtesy of Margherita Missoni looking cool in a revealing chocolate knit maxidress.
Creative Director Angela Missoni created the mood in both cut - asymmetrical shapes and off-the-shoulder looks, and colour - coral, yellow, turquoise, cocoa, and ultramarine. As ever, Angela delivered the trademark Missoni colour and print, but this time she made way for ruffles; bias-cut flamenco dresses with deep necklines; silk fringe; and tassel details adorning knit dresses, often layered over tailored separates.
The Caribbean was also conjured up with jungle prints and fabulous monkey charm earrings.
Sandals were adorned with bright plastic flowers and had plexiglass high heels, and bags were ruffled and frilled.
