LFW S/S ‘12 Report: Roksanda Ilincic

21 September 2011

Roksanda Ilincic is known for her glamourous cocktail and eveningwear but for today's Spring/Summer 2012 collection, the designer broke out of her mould. Of course, there were the beautiful raw silk, high knot dresses in brights and neutral colours but there were also key separates. Opera coats, tailored lose fit shorts and sack waist organza maxi skirts had rope belts to clinch in the voluminous shapes. Colour combos were strong with unlikely mixes of tones and contrasting detailed zips. Embroidery and prints were perfect for transforming the evening gowns into suitable daywear - a new direction for Ms Ilincic. A favourite was the muted patent shoes with fluro piping, designed by LFW hero Nicholas Kirkwood.

The models were of a stunning calibre, simply elegant and gorgeous. Charlotte Free sashayed down the catwalk wearing the most shocking of pinks in the form of a organza drop waist prom dress with a matching hat and, you guessed it, matching hair. All in all, a really exciting collection for Roksanda Illincic (that's pronounced rock-san-da eel-ling-chi-ch). Roll on summer...
