Originally designed in 1976, the DAKS house check was given a revamp for Spring/Summer 2012. Printed on terry towelling playsuits, silk blouses and tote bags - overall the collection was a success and new Head of Womenswear and accessories Sheila McKain-Waid, to be commended.
With the British 50’s seaside holiday as inspiration, the full-skirted 50’s style skirts, wrapped shirts and halter neck tops with wide leg trousers were a safe and wearable way to channel the era. But after such a successful AW11 season and lacking the drama of last season’s couture style quilted skirts, surpassing it was going to be hard!
