LFW S/S '12 Report: Jaeger London

18 September 2011

The heavens opened in London just as we arrived at the Jaeger London show, but there wasn’t a thought for bad weather inside as Stuart Stockdale looked to Mustique, the preferred choice of holiday destination for the fabulously rich and famous, as the inspiration for his SS’12 collection. And boy did it make us long to be on the beach. Glossy girls with glossy limbs stalked the catwalk in shorts, that varied from cut-out detailed thigh-skimmers, through below-the-knee pleated culottes, with everything from tailored, sailor, lace and short suits in between. Moving onto sharp but summer suitable tailoring (city girls, your summer is sorted), clever layering, scalloped edged dresses and structured separates, delicate lace dresses and cutesy shifts.

No-one will suit the stripe short suits, like the long, long legs of FROW-ers Donna Air and Laura Bailey (who, by the way look eerily similar these days), but it was the lovely Lorraine Kelly who looked so jolly that clearly, in her head, she was already half way to Mustique with a wardrobe full of Jaeger London’s finest.

Five Favourites

Orange trousers with a waffle knit and trench coat – great colour combination
Navy, yellow and ochre striped mini dress – would wear it tomorrow given the chance!
Copper broderie dress with chocolate lace overlay – perfect way to spice up summer
Black and white delicately printed dress with black lace inserts – never thought of myself as a babydoll dress kinda girl, but maybe, just maybe with this one…
The structured leather camera bags – 70s made chic
