LFW S/S ‘12 Beauty Report: Topshop Unique

18 September 2011

Not only is Topshop one of our favourite high-street shops but the Unique show is always a London Fashion Week highlight. Last season, we saw Dalmation Divas but today, Pharaohs, hyroglifics and Elizabeth Taylor in 'Cleopatra' was the inspiration.

Hannah Murray used Topshop's Skin Glow to make skin luminescent and polished so as not to jar with the golden-encased heads by Paul Hanlon. 'I've used real gold leaf on the hair which I've stuck down with liquid honey as it's the only thing that works,' he tells us backstage. The mummified, fractured gold heads look regal and far more grown up compared to last season's bunches.

Sophy Robson also had a tall order on her hands, painting individual hyroglific symbols (inspired by the collection) on each nail - toes AND hands! With 45 models, that's a total of 450 nails. Phewf!

Do you recognise the models in our backstage pics? Charlotte (with the pink hair) is currently in the Topshop make-up campaign whilst Nur has starred in a couple of summer Grazia beauty stories. Oh yes, we can spot a super anywhere!
