NYFW S/S ‘12 Beauty Report: Donna Karan

13 September 2011

Pony ponies and mean matte lips at Donna Karan didn't follow the usual summer fare we've seen thus far. Precision deep, dark red lips matted down with powder were teamed with strong brows and super-shiny eyes. It's a texture overload we can't wait to try!

'This is an 80's Sports Illustrated, Yasmin LeBon and Alaia girl look wrapped up into a strong, sassy look,' Charlotte Tilbury told Grazia Daily backstage.

Meanwhile, Eugene's take on the Donna show took a similar textured turn with plastic, plastered down hair liberally painted with gel. The swishy ponytails were secured with material swiped from the DK haberdashery store. The reason? To keep the ponytails from touching the clothes and swishing down the catwalks. 'It's equestrian, slightly African with the high, exposed foreheads and a bit S+M too!' we're told.

Perhaps not one for everyday...but we might be persuaded come Friday night!
