It must be said that Gareth Pugh loves his futuristic goth look. Favourite themes include, geometric shapes, such as chevrons, zig-zags and triangles with sharp edges and a strict palette of black and grey. As well as eschewing colour, he's often known to swap catwalk presentations for film made by his long standing collaborator, Ruth Hogben.
This season, Pugh sent his models down the catwalk wearing a succession of black pieces: sculpted, articulated mini-dresses, billowing fluid trousers with a strict, fitted jackets, second-skin leggings and miniskirts, teamed with giant rubber boots with more of a rough
Wait! And then out of nowhere, out strutted a model in a glorious cornflower blue gown followed by a succession of suits, capes and more gowns in the same sumptuous hue - utterly beautiful. Closing looks of the show included a return to black with gold mosaic pieces on fierce-looking leggings and jackets. Talk about a bold vision of winter!
