LFW A/W '11 Report: Julien Macdonald

22 February 2011

After a week of amazing venues Julien pipped to the post with gothic church, One Mayfair. We were greeted by pyramids of chocolates and chocolate themed cocktails - this was going to be a great end to a very long day! In keeping with other collections, vevlet was strong with black gothic gowns swaying down the catwalks with intricate lace detailing and refreshing high necklines. When pieces weren't covered in fur, the chunky knitwear was also a highlight with heavy plied cable knitted twinsets and simple sweater dresses with lace inserts. The show rounded off with the usual killer gowns with thigh high slits and crystals but a mauve knife pleat 70s overlay batwing dress was the top of the pops!
