Henry Holland’s muse for A/W ’11 was "a girl who subscribes to Horse and Hound" and presumably, one who likes to get her rave on when she’s not mucking out the stables. Harris tweed suits and patchwork crochet both received a serious jazzing-up at the hands of the Lancashire whizz kid – the former being transformed in hot pink and neon orange while the latter was used in oversized scarves – like wearing a granny blanket as a coat at a festival, or as a print on figure-hugging maxi dresses. The overall effect was very jolly indeed.
Our favourite bits? The tweed suits, a return of the alphabet tights by Pretty Polly, the slouchy tweed shoppers and a gorgeous birdcage print that popped up on both silky georgette blouses and petticoats with a neon (what else?) lace trim. As always at a House of Holland show it CAN be hard to tear one's attention away from the star_studded FROW (Alexa, Pixie, Jaime, Jade Parfitt and Nick Grimshaw, who could at one point be seen to exclaim; ‘look at that camel toe!’ when a model in a particularly snug Harris tweed swimming costume sashayed past) but this season, the clothes fought back valiantly. Well done Henry!
