LFW A/W ‘11 Beauty Report: Maria Grachvogel

So we didn’t exactly stay at the Savoy last night, but we did end up there at ridiculous O’clock this morning for the Maria Grachvogel show.  And what a surprise – two of our total faves, Mel Arter and Kenna manning the hair and makeup stations for MAC and GHD respectively.

On the menu today? A good dose of well considered, conceptual beauty.  This season Grachvogel girls are aloof, enigmatic, mysterious creatures.  Mel conjured up a plump aubergine lip (which we’ll be trying out later) with MAC Bordeauxline Power Point Eye Pencil and a dash of Steel Blue Pigment dabbed into the middle. A powerful blocked brow gave the girls a tougher edge.

Kenna, meanwhile, told us that he had enjoyed injecting “a good dose of London cool” into the girls' hair with the high buns and graphic antennae shapes (created with GHD stylers) – the perfect foil to Maria’s soft, draped shapes.

We love! We're just gutted that the Pret a Manger almond croissants arrived just as we were leaving… Back to the office!
