NYFW A/W '11 Marc Jacobs Beauty Report

15 February 2011

'This women is seriously obsessed with perfection and her appearance, there's an S&M quality to this girl and there's no mistakes - she's thought out from toe to the top of her hair - it's almost kinky' Guido told us of Marc Jacobs A/W '11 catwalk muse.

Blusher was applied just below the cheekbones and drawn down towards the lips in a brownish, reddy blush 'like your Grandmother who puts her lipstick on as blusher' Francois Nars told us backstage. The beigey/black eyeline, like the blusher, was drawn downwards to add slightly to the "off" feeling of the look, whilst skin was dewy and natural.

The catwalk's padded, white vinyl set and Marilyn Manson music hinted towards the uptight, perverse perfection of the collection (tons of bodycon and chin straps!) Cue Guido's strict, 'shrink wrapped' ponytails, blow dried back from the hairline and pulled back to sit above the crown. The secret to ponytail perfection? REDKEN blow dry gel and a set of straighteners.
