NYFW A/W ‘11 Beauty Report: Thakoon

14 February 2011

The bold fabrics of Thakoon's A/W '11 collection were inspired by the Masai tribe and Rococo era, which provided the perfect opportunity a brilliantly bright beauty look. Hurrah! Diane Kendel's tri-blusher eyes came in pink, orange and red shades, inspired by the perfect African sunset, and were set off by bleached brows (we told you they're still in!).

While the 35 models were getting bleached, the hair department used wool fabrics matching those in the collection, weaving them into the hair (think patchwork stylee) to create a chignon.

Not to be outdone, colour continued on the nails with a jade green (it reminded Thakoon of the buckets in African markets, we're told).

Oh yes, A/W '11 doesn't look too dull from where we're standing...
