MFW S/S '11 Beauty Report: Pucci

26 September 2010

As you might have noticed, the 70's have been referenced as the inspiration for hair and make-up looks so many times this fashion month that we’ve lost count. But in Milan, there’s a new muse in town; Brigitte Bardot, who’s quickly becoming the new backstage buzz name thanks to her classic style and good looks. Whether it's a slight lift in the hair at the crown or just a Bardot-feeling of sensuality, both Just Cavalli and Pucci gave a nod to the 60's icon.

It was a case of mixing cream textures at Pucci to create a luxurious hippy style.  Make-up artist Lisa Butler used ten pale, pinky neutral cream products to give the models a 'south of France glow', pushing in the cream products to leave the models' skin so desirable and with a barely-there make-up impression.

The hair was a modern day interpretation of Brigitte in St Tropez. Glossy waves had been replaced with a tousled, separated modern dreadlock; the type of dreadlocks you could rock in the Mediterranean!
