MFW S/S '11 Beauty Report: Just Cavalli

'It's Dennis Hopper in drag!' Gordon Espinet told us backstage at Just Cavalli, ‘but made gorgeous - Easyrider meets Valley of the Dolls’, which translates as a smokey, glossy eye and wind-swept cheeks and hair.  ‘It’s Nevada sexy,’ Gordon explained, and he wasn’t kidding. Using MAC’s Airforce Blue and Auto De-Blu technakohl liner, it was a denim knockout, and MAC Cream Blush in Brit Wit gave the models a ‘just been riding on a motorcycle wind-blown’ effect. If there’s one texture that’s easy to create and wear for S/S '11, it’s sheeny, dewy cream.

So what of the hair? It was a ‘slept in’ Brigitte Bardot hairstyle, with a slight wave, backcombing and centre-parting, suggesting a 60s influence.  The key?  Kerastase nutri-sculpt mousse, diffused into the hair, followed by a hint of a curling tong for a dented wave. Yep, the Just Cavalli girls were the kind of young, cool biker chicks any girl would want to be...
