MFW S/S ‘11 Beauty Report: Prada

24 September 2010

American born dancer, singer and actress Josephine Baker inspired the high-shine and sculpted flapper style beauty look at Prada yesterday.  “It’s based on the Thirties jazz scene in Cuba,” said hairstylist Guido Palau. “Miuccia Prada likes sophistication, but paired with an innocence, too…though it’s definitely not a look you’d try at home!” If, however, you feel an inclination to give the look a whirl, we can tell you that Redken Super Strong 015 Hardwear Gel and a tail comb were used to create a deep parting, while the lengths of the hair were scooped into low slung twists and finished with hairspray.  Before heading to the runway, models were spritzed with Redken’s Glass 01 Smoothing Serum for added impact.

Over in makeup, Grazia favourite Pat McGrath echoed the androgynous theme, while throwing some glamour into the mix with a silver, almost reflective, eye and rosebud mouth.  Powerful stuff indeed!
