NYFW S/S '11 Beauty report: Narciso Rodriguez

15 September 2010

At Narciso Rodriguez, the collection was a retrospective of his previous collections, making it broken down into distinct sections ‘so I  wanted to go back to what we used to do at shows and keep all the girls unified and linear’ Eugene Souleiman told us.  Harking back to when Eugene first started working with Narciso in the late Nineties, the hair was pared down and ‘real straight’; tucked over one ear with a low, curved side-parting.  Make-up played with warm (on the eyes) and cool (on the lips) tones.  A rusty reddy/orange was blended out  so it looked almost like a halo around the eyelid and the lips were a delicate, rosey mauve tint - Shiseido’s lipstick in Whisper.  Reminiscent of the ‘good old Nineties catwalk’ days the beauty look for Narciso was sophisticated and classic in keeping with the collection.
