PFW AW10 Beauty Blogger: Gareth Pugh

04 March 2010

MAC make-up artist – and guest blogger for Grazia Daily during Fashion Weeks – Neil Young has jetted from Milan to Paris to bring you another expert beauty look at what goes down backstage at the shows...

Yesterday I arrived in my last city of the season, Paris! This is my favourite city for the shows with all the most exciting shows in terms of makeup.
Gareth Pugh and Westwood being just two of them. Although there were no shows for the day, we had a meeting about the next nine days ahead and boy it's a busy schedule. I'm really looking forward to Balmain which is also one of the hottest shows in Paris. Big names and amazing clothes!

After the meeting, I got the chance to wind down with my friends at the best Chinese in Paris and enjoy a few cheeky glasses of wine. The days ahead are gonna be crazy so it's important to disconnect from work and enjoy some 'me' time...

Today I had a lie in! Well, until 9am so that was very nice. My first show was Gareth Pugh. The makeup was designed by the incredible Alex Box and in usual style, it was weird and always wonderful. The girls faces were made to look like mannequins using Studio Sculpt Foundation and the eyes were given a twist by using #44 and #42 lashes but placed upside down to almost hug the eye. Then Alex airbrushed the foreheads in Black foundation to create a heavy shadowed effect. The girls looked amazing. Today is the easiest of days here in Paris for me so I'm going to make the most of it and enjoy a night out with some friends in this beautiful city!
