MFW Beauty Report: Iceberg

28 February 2010

Show: Iceberg

Location: Pelota, 10 Via Palermo

Look: The look is being described as a 'Swedish airhostess on her day off meets the very blonde Kim Novak in a Hitchcock film'. It also involves a modern twist on a late 50's, early 60's French look.

Sam McKnight wanted the hair to be slightly dishevelled and undone but still have the classic silhouette of a French twist. 'It's a dry unfinished texture,' he told us, created with backcombing and drying using a Frederic Fekkai Lifting and Texturizing spray gel. Almost nest like, the 'undone do' is far from the grungey hair we've been seeing this season.

Val Garland was heading up the make-up department, giving the girls gorgeous, natural skin with uber groomed brows. The eyes are soft and creamy, created using MAC 'shell' cream colour base across the lid and white kohl inside the lash line to really make eyes pop.

The 'shell' colour is also being used as a highlighter across the bridge of the nose, chin, cheeks and temples to create a luxurious and creamy effect.

For the lips, Val applied a rosy stain for a natural 'barely there' flush. This is make-up mastery at its best.
