MFW AW10 Report: Red carpet winners at Giorgio Armani
What we loved:
1. The emerald green velvet pieces that opened the show, especially the point toe sling back shoes that seemed so right for now.
2. Precision tailoring. It's what Mr A does best. Sharp shoulder jackets (often with a half crescent lapel - a theme carried over from his couture show in January) were shown with either narrow cigarette pants or flippy, unstructured skirts for a softer look.
3. For the cocktail hour GA offered one shoulder, one sleeved and off-the-shoulder short, snappy shapes. It's safe to say that in Armani's world the shoulder is AW/10's erogenous zone!
4. Black velvet - the ultimate after dark fabric. Armani used it to create super chic evening suits and elegant gowns (watch this space on Oscar night).
