MFW AW10 Report: D&G

The D&G boys sure love a theme (remember last season’s Wild West extravaganza?), so for this winter 2010 they decided it was time for a weekend adventure on the slopes. As the Muse soundtrack blared and the lights went down, images of snow capped mountains, galloping reindeer and ski chalets filled the video screen. In seasons past Dominico and Stefano have breathed life (and sex appeal) into tartan, kilts and even headscarves, and for their next challenge they’ve turned their hands to festive knits. There was an array of knitwear - the majority featuring reindeer and snowflake motifs - from figure hugging sweaters to teeny tiny shorts, leggings, leotard and all in ones – worn and softened up with lace and flower print chiffon skirts. The finale parade saw long white Victoriana style tiered dresses, some worn with sheriff style black overcoats and silky black toggle ties. And the footwear? Well, it has to be the furry yeti boot of course – worn with absolutely everything! The show was exhilarating from beginning to end, which is after all, what a skiing weekend is all about…

Here are the five things we loved:

Restoring our faith in the Xmas  knit
Knitted figure bag  charms
Rhinestone goggles and ski  helmets
Chiffon knit print  shirts
Furry yeti  boots
