LFW Beauty Blogger: Clements Ribeiro and Central St Martins

22 February 2010

MAC make-up artist – and guest blogger for Grazia Daily during London Fashion Week – Neil Young is back with another expert look at what goes down backstage at the shows...

Ugh! These early starts are becoming more painful by the minute but the show must go on, as they say! The Clements Ribeiro presentation was stunning. The clothes had a bohemian feel with paisley prints and the make-up reflected this 70's vibe with lined black eyes and lashings of black mascara.

Two types of mascara added the incredible volume to the lashes - Zoomlash first, followed by a coat of Fibre Rich. Each girl, according to their colouring, had a splash of either green eye shadow in Humid or blue in Freshwater added to the inner corner of their eyes.

Once the presentation started, I headed home for a couple of hours to clean my kit and prep for Central St Martins Masters show, where it’s my third year heading the team of artists.

When I arrived, the inspiration was based around Brook Shields’ brows. A little masculine in execution - full and textured. I wanted the girls to look like pretty boys.

22 designers showed their collections and they were incredible – they’re the stars of tomorrow and they didn't disappoint! It’s now very late and I can hear my bed calling for me... Just a minimal four hours before I have to do it all again. Stay tuned beauty fans!
