LFW Beauty Report: J Maskrey

21 February 2010

Body art, nails and clothes were bling-tastic at the J Maskrey show.

Special Elegant Touch nails especially designed in four different looks adorned the models’ hands. They were long and black with dangling beads and silver crystals (think nail piercing plus extensions) or matte grey with angled edges -- we couldn't take our eyes off them!

Sharon Dowsett for MAC was inspired by a melange of bronze. 'It's an autumnal palette with bronze, acid orange and lemon gold,’ she told us. ‘A bit of a chemical metallic to warm up the skin for winter but it's luxe too'.

The hair was by Mark Hayes for Vidal Sassoon: 'it's very much about mixing geometry with organic shape.' So he created two different looks - both clean and neat.

Look one saw three circular hair pieces placed at the back – although they were low, they were still visible from the front in a Princess Leia stylee.

Look two consisted of a very low side parting involving a false hair piece that was swept over with the model’s hair and cut at an angle from the cheek down to the line of the mouth. 'The black shiny, almost patent, leather contrasting hair piece makes the skin really stand out'. We’ll have one of them then, please!
