NYFW Beauty Report: Marc by Marc Jacobs

17 February 2010

The Show: Marc by Marc Jacobs

Where: NY State Armoury

The Scene
: We’re hanging out to rock teen-spirit music with the odd cheerleader chant thrown in. Surprise surprise everyone is admiring the glorious catering table. Again.
Everyone backstage is: Super calm and applying Parisian Homeoplasmine cream.  (This stuff is genius – a matte non-greasy lifesaver for chapped lips and unruly brows.  Another note to self…MUST get hold of this ASAP.)
The Inspiration: Make up artist Dick Page and hair stylist Guido were given Marc’s early shows as a reference for today’s beauty look.  When he first started showing it was really unusual and different to do grunge, so today saw a return to this look with dampish tousled hair and a simple sweep of pink blush.

How-to Tip
: The aim of the beauty game today was to get a super-fresh, flushed cheek.  Dick Page mixed white with deeper pinks for fair girls and gold mixed with pink for and for warmer toned skin.

Get the Look
: Shiseido blushers in Orchid, Tea Rose, Petal, Carnation, High Beam and Soft Beam Gold were mixed to get customised cheeks depending the skin tone of the model.
