NYFW Beauty Report: Rodarte

17 February 2010

The Show: Rodarte

Where: Gagosian Gallery
The Scene: Excitable – We LOVE Rodarte ….

The Look
: Hair Stylist Odile Gilbert and make-up artist James Kaliardos were told that the Rodarte girls were to be dream-like, as if stuck between being awake and asleep. Odile Gilbert and her team worked with Aveda products to create neat, wet-look and childlike hair adorned with beautiful handmade copper hairpins attached to hidden cornrows in horizontal rows across the back of the head.  Meanwhile James told us that in the makeup camp they were ‘conjuring up the spirits’ with lilac sparking cheeks and a smoky grey eye on a pale white face for a distinctly magical look.

New Product Alert
:  Yikes! Jin Soon was on hand for MAC painting nails a heavenly, ethereal shimmering silvery blue.  This polish has no name – and isn’t out until later this year but we can tell you we’ll be first at the checkout.

Hero Products
: Create wonderfully sleek and smooth look by prepping damp hair with Aveda Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightener and blow-dry smooth with a flat brush. Apply MAC Pigment in Pink Opal to the outer brow bone before pressing MAC Pigment in Kitchmas into the centre of the cheekbone for the perfect Rodarte Pixie cheek.
