A year in and Hannah MacGibbon seems to be finding her feet at the helm of Chloe. The s/s 2010 collection she showed in a huge (and boiling hot - we were melting in there!) tent in Paris' Jardin des Tulleries was slick, confident and commercial. Sticking to a pallette that spanned the beige spectrum - from tobacco to tawny, she sent out look after look of clothes we predict the Chloe girl will be craving. Mannish shirts, primly buttoned to the chin, were paired with fluid jersey skirts both floor and knee length - their hems longer at the back than front. A safari shirt dress with spilts at each side was shown with over knee length shorts. White plice chiffon dresses are what the Chloe girl will be wearing for evenings next summer - fresh, girly and frothy they captured the ultra feminine trend we have seen so much of over the past few weeks of catwalk shows. As always at Chloe, accessories were key - the bag of the season is large and structured in a shiny croc finish, while the best shoes were either flat sandals with ties that knotted around the ankle (often over trouser or ski pant hems) or petit stilettos with a ribbon ankle tie. Expect the waiting lists to start today.
