LFW show report: Aquascutum’s top models

22 September 2009

It may have only been a presentation at their Regent Street store, but quintessentially British brand Aquascutum sent some big names around the room to showcase their S/S 2010 collection yesterday afternoon. Chanel Iman, Coco Rocha and Iekeliene Stange all stepped out on to the polished wooden floors in a classic colour palette of muted khaki greens and beiges that would have been right at home in Out Of Africa.

Canvas hats were everywhere you looked, and scrunched fabric was overlain with a multitude of pockets on the arms and at the hems while soft cotton jersey dresses trailed behind the girls as they walked slowly and elegantly around the room in flat tan coloured sandals. Embellishment was evident in the beaded necklaces and fringed belts that accessorised signature navy cotton trenches and pleated brocade trouser suits. Highlights included ruffle-hemmed silk blouses and a simply chic grey silk gown, the ruffle detailed lapels on classic knee-length coats, and the off-green military-style coat with exposed zips. All in all, a classic British collection from a classic British fashion house. Aquascutum at its best.
